We designed the Kids Club at Fattal’s luxury hotel, The Yacht, drawing inspiration from the world of sailing and the sea.The space reflects the gentle rhythm of the waves, the warmth of natural materials and the refined elegance of maritime design, creating a calm and imaginative environment filled with opportunities for play, discovery and exploration. The concept combines a soft colour palette, bespoke joinery designed by our studio and carefully considered details, resulting in an atmosphere that is playful, contemporary and sophisticated.A custom-built joinery unit incorporates a circular library, interactive screens offering a wide variety of age-appropriate games, a soft seating area, a role-play kitchen and a play structure inspired by a yacht deck. The structure features a range of activities, as well as a round porthole overlooking the “sea”, inviting children to embark on imaginary journeys to distant places. At the heart of the club, we designed a unique play “island” composed of platforms at varying heights, a ball pit, a soft seating nook and areas for rest and observation. These are complemented by a climbing and crawling structure, a slide and an interactive tube wall, all designed to encourage movement, creativity and open-ended play.At the centre of the platforms, we created tactile coral-inspired elements that invite touch and sensory exploration, reinforcing the underwater world of corals and marine life that runs throughout the design. The joinery enveloping the space is crafted from natural wood and features delicate illustrations inspired by coral formations and the movement of water. The light-toned parquet flooring recalls the deck of a yacht, while the ceiling is animated by transparent, spherical light fixtures suspended at varying heights, inspired by floating marine glass spheres.A wide glass façade overlooking the hotel pool fills the club with soft natural light and creates a seamless connection between the interior and the surrounding aquatic landscape. The club also includes a dedicated arts and crafts area with a compact kitchenette, two sinks positioned at heights suitable for both children and instructors, and a large custom-designed activity table that integrates naturally into the overall concept. Additional games and activity elements are discreetly concealed throughout the bespoke joinery, allowing the space to support a wide variety of experiences.Every detail contributes to a distinctive environment that brings together thoughtful aesthetics, open-ended play, imagination and adventure.More than simply a Kids Club, it is a small world of freedom, creativity and discovery — a unique space designed as a natural continuation of the refined atmosphere of the luxury hotel.
